Dietrich H. Boesken

Dietrich H. Boesken (born May 25, 1927 in Liegnitz , Silesia ) is a German industrial manager .

Life

After completing his studies, Boesken initially worked as a design engineer in car development at Auto Union AG , Ingolstadt. Further positions led him to Aral AG / Raab Karcher GmbH , Munich and Regensburg and Thyssen Henschel in Kassel.

Dietrich H. Boesken joined Alusingen GmbH in 1977 as General Director and Chairman of the Management Board . From 1988 to 1993 he was chairman of the management board of Alusuisse Lonza GmbH , Konstanz and Singen, and head of the holding of the German Alusuisse Lonza group. Since 1994 he has been a managing partner of Boesken GmbH, Singen.

From 1981 to 2001 Dietrich H. Boesken was President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hochrhein-Bodensee , in November 2001 he was elected Honorary President.

Boesken is active in numerous associations and has or has held various supervisory board mandates, including Allgemeine Kreditversicherung AG .

Dietrich H. Boesken is married and has one son. He has lived in Singen since 1977.

Act

Boesken was a major advocate of the University of Konstanz , of which he became an honorary senator. From 1996 to 2004 he was President of the University Society, since 2005 Honorary President. He is the recipient of the Kurt Lion Medal of the University of Konstanz and namesake of the Dietrich H. Boesken Prize of the University of Konstanz.

In 1987 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class , in 1992 the Great Cross of Merit and in 2001 the Great Cross of Merit with Star of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 2000 he was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Business Medal . In 2002 he became an honorary citizen of the city of Singen am Hohentwiel . He is the bearer of the ring of honor of the district of Constance.

He is also Honorary President of the General Association of the Aluminum Industry in Düsseldorf.
