Dietrich IV. Von Runkel (* before 1402, † around 1462) from the noble family Runkel was Herr von Runkel .

He was the third and youngest son of Mr. Dietrich III. von Runkel († 1402).

He was from 1414 Erb official man of Andernach . After his brothers Friedrich III. and Siegfried VIII had died childless, he inherited the paternal rule of Runkel by 1427 at the latest.

Dietrich married Anastasia von Isenburg-Wied, heir daughter of Johann II von Wied ( House Isenburg ) and Agnes von Westerburg in 1427 . When his father-in-law died, he inherited his share of the Isenburg castle and rule , as well as Grenzhausen , Alsbach and his part of the Arenfels rule . With Anastasia he had eight children:

  • Friedrich IV. († August 31, 1487), hereditary officer of Andernach, 1454 Count zu Wied, Lord of Braunsberg, Lord of Dierdorf, Lord of Isenburg ⚭ before November 19, 1454 Agnes von Virneburg († March 12, 1478)
  • Dietrich V. von Runkel († 1484), Lord of Runkel
  • Wilhelm II. Von Runkel († December 25, 1489), from 1454 Mr. von Runkel ⚭ 1454 Irmgard von Rollingen († 1514)
  • Johann († May 28, 1521), 1485 Mr. von Runkel
  • Agnes († after 1481), ⚭ Gottfried XI. from Eppenstein-Münzenberg († 1466)
  • Gertrud, Abbess of Gerresheim (1462–1465)
  • Jutta († around 1471), ⚭ August 2, 1463 Count Wilhelm III. von Limburg , Lord of Broich († September 14, 1473)
  • Magdalena, nun in Elten 1480

Anastasia's childless uncle Wilhelm II von Wied-Braunsberg-Isenburg († October 1462) left the county of Wied, the dominions of Braunsberg and Dierdorf and his share in the castle and dominion of Isenburg in 1454 on the occasion of his wedding to Dietrich's eldest son Friedrich IV .

He was last mentioned in a document on February 22nd, 1462 and probably died a little later.
