Dietrich Moderhack

Dietrich Moderhack (born April 14, 1940 in Berlin ) is a German chemist ( pharmaceutical chemistry , chemistry of heterocycles ) and professor at the TU Braunschweig .

Moderhack, the son of Richard Moderhack , studied chemistry at the TU Braunschweig, received his doctorate there in 1968 (dissertation: Hydroxylamines in four-component condensation according to Ugi ), in 1978 he completed his habilitation in Braunschweig and became a professor there.

He dealt with synthesis, reactions and ring transformations with triazoles and tetrazoles , synthesis and properties of azapentalenes with triazole or tetrazole partial rings, isocyanides , four-ring systems with heteroatoms in the 1,2-position and acid and isophonic acid and their derivatives (history of chemistry).

He is an honorary member of the Historical Commission for Saxony-Anhalt , as he founded a foundation in Halle that provides substantial support for the work of the commission. Another foundation, the Richard-und-Dietrich-Moderhack-Foundation, mainly supports the Historical Commission for Lower Saxony and Bremen and is named after the former Brunswick archive director Richard Moderhack (1907-2010).
