Under the name Digital Battle Eurovision , the San-Marinese preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 took place in Rotterdam ( Netherlands ) on March 9th, 2020 . The singer Senhit , selected internally by SMRTV , made two songs available to the Internet audience for voting in an online voting process.

In the end, the song Freaky! the vote and will therefore be the song that Senhit should have performed in Rotterdam. However, the event was canceled on March 18 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

On March 6, 2020, the San Marino television SMRTV introduced the Italian singer Senhit as a representative for the state. The singer already represented the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf . At that time still competed under the name Senit , the singer could not reach the final and only finished 16th in the semifinals. Back then, Senhit were also selected internally, and their song was also selected internally. For 2020, however, the singer organized an online vote under the name Digital Battle Eurovision . There the singer provided two songs that the Internet audience could vote on from March 7, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. ( CET ) to March 8, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (CET). This allowed residents outside of San Marino to participate in the vote. The song with the most votes won the vote and would have been Senhit's contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

Choice of contribution

Senhit submitted the two songs himself to the San Marino RTV (SMRTV). In consultation with SMRTV, she decided that her contribution would be voted on online.

The presentation of the results and thus the winning song took place on March 9, 2020. The song Freaky! Obsessed received 51.6% of the total votes and thus 1020 votes more than Obsessed .
