San Marino RTV is the public broadcaster of the miniature state of San Marino . Its full name is: "Radiotelevisione della Repubblica di San Marino" ( Radio and Television of the Republic of San Marino ).

San Marino RTV was founded in 1991 thanks to a share capital of the Ente per la Radiodiffusione Sammarinese (ERAS, San Marino Broadcasting Company ) and the Italian public service RAI . Both participated with 50% of the capital. San Marino RTV broadcasts in Italian , the official language of San Marino.

Trial operations began on December 27, 1992 for a radio program from Radio San Marino RTV, which went into regular operation on October 25, 1993. A television program followed on February 28, 1994, after it had run in test mode from April 24, 1993. The program began at 10 a.m., and the broadcast was scheduled to end at 2 a.m. The work of the current service began with the first broadcasts. In July 1995, San Marino RTV became a member of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union); Currently, the establishment is also a member of Comunità Italofona Radiotelevisiva ( Italian- speaking broadcasting community ).

In 2008 San Marino took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade for the first time. This enabled Italians from Emilia-Romagna, southern Veneto and northern Marche to receive the Eurovision Song Contest in the broadcasting area of ​​San Marino RTV. The piece Complice by Miodio was not well received by the European audience and took last place in the semi-finals with only 5 points. In 2009 and 2010, San Marino decided not to participate. In 2011, after Italy's return to the ESC, it was decided to participate again. In 2014 they entered the final of the competition for the first time and reached 24th place.

Radio San Marino RTV

Radio San Marino RTV is the oldest radio program in San Marino (the second oldest program is that of the private broadcaster Radio San Marino on the VHF frequency 98.8 MHz). Radio San Marino RTV broadcasts around the clock. It can be received on the FM frequency 102.7 MHz in the area of ​​the Romagna Adriatic coast and via live stream on the Internet.

Radio San Marino Classic

Radio San Marino Classic is the second public radio program in San Marino. It has been on the air since June 2004 and broadcasts Italian and international evergreens, the games of the San Marinese football championship and the sessions of the national parliament (Consiglio Grande e Generale).

Radio San Marino Classic can be received on the VHF frequency 103.2 MHz in a small area between Pesaro and Cesena . There is also an internet live stream.
