Miodio

Miodio (or Mi Odio ) is an Italian and San-Marinese band, consisting of the members Nicola Della Valle ( vocals ), Paola Macina ( guitar ), Andrea Marco Pollice , called "Polly" ( bass and programming ), Francesco Sancisi ( keyboard and programming) and Alessandro Gobbi ( drums ). The band was formed in 2002. Three of the band members are Italians, the other two San Marines.

Band history

In 2006 Miodio recorded their first EP Miodio , which contained five tracks and was produced by the Acanto record label owned by producer and composer Andrea Felli . In 2007 they signed an exclusive contract with the record label Opera Prima , where they released their first single It's Ok , which was played on over a hundred local radio stations. The song is also included on the soundtrack of the film Il Soffio dell'Anima .

Miodio represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade , Serbia , with their song Complice . It was San Marino's first participation in the competition. The band was selected in a national preliminary decision from a total of 50 applicants by a seven-person jury of experts put together by the San-Marine television broadcaster SMRTV , which broadcast the competition . Miodio reached in the first semi-final of the ESC on May 20, 2008 with only five points, the last place among 19 semi-finalists and could not qualify for the final on May 24, 2008.

Prices

Miodio won the 17th San Marino Festival as well as the “Viva Music” and “Best Original Song” awards at the Bologna Art Festival in 2006. They represented San Marino at the 12th Biennale of Young Artists in Europe in Naples , where the band produced and shot one themselves 30-minute short film, which was recognized by the jury.
