from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Eastern Switzerland Digital Library is a range of electronic media (e-books, e-audios, e-music, e-videos, e-magazines, e-papers) from the cantonal libraries of Eastern Switzerland together with around 100 public libraries. It is based on the Onleihe system from DiViBib, a subsidiary of ekz.bibliotheksservice .

Libraries from the cantons of Appenzell Ausserrhoden , Appenzell Innerrhoden , Glarus , Graubünden , St. Gallen , Schaffhausen , Thurgau and Zurich as well as the Principality of Liechtenstein are involved . The offer was created in 2008 on the initiative of the Vadiana Cantonal Library , which is also the managing director, as the St. Gallen digital library and the first ever online loan network and was expanded to the entire region in 2011.

Other regions of Switzerland are planning digital networks based on the model of the digital library in Eastern Switzerland .
