Dilolo is a place in the Lualaba Province in the south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo . Dilolo lies at an altitude of 1000 m and is the border crossing of the Benguela Railway to Angola , i.e. the transition between Société Nationale des Chemins de fer du Congo and Caminhos de Ferro de Angola .

Dilolo has been impoverished since the Benguela Railway was shut down in 1975. Even before the railway was built, this barren area was known as the “Hungry Land”. Inflation is very high and the supply of goods is poor. Hopes are therefore placed on the Benguela Railway, which reopened on August 13, 2014.
