Dilon Djindji (born August 14, 1927 in Marracuene ), sometimes also Dilon Djinji, is a Mozambican musician from Maputo . He is considered to be one of the forefathers of modern marrabenta , Mozambican dance music.

Djindji was born as the son of a farmer in the south of Mozambique. He discovered his love for music in his youth and built improvised instruments. He performed for the first time when he was twelve. Later he became a pastor and from 1950 worked for a few years in South African mines. From around 1960 he revolutionized the marrabenta, the traditional form of dance music in the country, and became a legend. He played with his band Estrelas de Marracuene and still today in the internationally successful Mozambican group Mabulu, with whom he completed six European tours between 2000 and 2005.

While numerous records have been released in his home country, so far there has only been one solo release internationally in 2002 - the acoustic Marrabenta album Dilon on his 75th birthday.
