Dimi from Haifa
Rab Dimi from Haifa (short for Abudimi = Eudemos or Abudemmos ) was an Amora of the 3rd (according to others: the 4th) generation in Palestine . He lived and worked at the end of the 3rd / beginning of the 4th century AD.
He was a companion of Rabbis Isaak Nappacha, Ammi and Abbahu and Tradent des Resch Lakisch , from whom he must have learned a lot.
Dimi emigrated to Babylonia (therefore called the Babylonia Driver) and presented Palestinian doctrines and traditions in Pumbedita , especially to Abaje .
Dimi's numerous students included, among others, Rechja and Samuel bar Nachmani .
According to tradition, Dimi is buried in Haifa next to Isaak Nappacha.
