Dimitrie Ancuța

Dimitrie Ancuța (born October 3, 1937 in Suceava ) is a former Romanian politician of the Romanian Communist Party (PCR), who was Vice Prime Minister between 1986 and 1987.

Life

Dimitrie Ancuța attended the secondary school for financial engineering in Bucharest from 1951 to 1955 and during this time became a member of the communist youth organization Uniunea Tineretului Comunist (UTC) in 1952 . Between 1955 and 1959 he completed his studies at the Faculty of Finance and Credit Management at the Institute " Vladimir Ilyich Lenin " in Bucharest and after graduating in 1959 he became a member of the Ministry of Finance, where he was controller until October 1964 and finally head of the controlling group the department for capital controlling and auditing there. In 1961 he became a member of the Romanian Communist Party PCR (Partidul Comunist Român) . In the meantime, he completed postgraduate studies at the Academy of Social and Political Sciences (Academia de Stiinte Sociale si Politice) " Ștefan Gheorghiu " , where he obtained a doctorate in economics. In 1964 he moved to the party administration and was initially an instructor, in 1967 head of the commission for domestic trade and from 1968 to 1970 head of the coordination and centralization section of the Bucharest city party committees.

After Ancuța was an instructor of the Central Committee Department for Organization for a short time in October 1970, he acted between November 9, 1970 and January 19, 1971 for almost two months as the Central Committee's Territorial Instructor for Organizational Activities of the Ministries and Central Institutions. He was then from January 19, 1971 to May 8, 1972 Economic Secretary in the Bucharest City Party Committee and was then in 1972 Director of Commerce of the Industrial Center for Technological Equipment and Materials of Bucharest. As such, he has also been Romania's representative in the Mechanical Engineering Commission of the Council for Mutual Economic Aid (Comecon) since 1974 . On May 16, 1983 he became inspector of the Central Committee with the rank of State Secretary and held this position until 1985. At the thirteenth party congress of the PCR (November 19 to 22, 1984) he became a candidate for the Central Committee (ZK) of the PCR. In 1985 he also became a member of the Grand National Assembly (Marea Adunare Națională) and represented in this until 1989 the constituency No. 1 Deva-Est in the Hunedoara district . During his membership in Parliament he was a member of the Committee on Industry, Economy and Finance from March 29, 1985 to December 13, 1986.

On August 26, 1986 Dimitrie Ancuța took over the post of Vice-Prime Minister (Viceprim-ministru al Guvernului) in the Dăscălescu II cabinet and also held this office until September 14, 1987. In addition, on February 5, 1987, he became President of the Government Commission for the Rationalization of the System of Records in Socialist Units. Most recently, on October 19, 1987, he became the first vice-president of the Executive Committee of the People's Council in the Constanța district and held this office until October 22, 1989. At the Fourteenth Party Congress of the PCR (November 20 to 24, 1989) he was also a member of the Central Committee the PCR and held this function until the collapse of communism in the wake of the revolution on December 22, 1989 . For his services he received the Order of Labor Third Class (Ordinul Muncii) .
