from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dimitrios Liantinis (born July 23, 1942 in lakonia ; † June 1, 1998 (?) In Taygetos ) was a Greek philosopher , professor of educational philosophy and didactics of ancient Greek and modern Greek at the University of Athens and author of philosophical books.

Life

In his didactic and written work, Dimitrios Liantinis deals with the philosophy of poetry, philosophical anthropology and the philosophy of education. A poet himself and an excellent connoisseur of the Greek language in its long history, he wrote in the modern Greek language, which is immediately recognizable stylistically. He studied Greek philology at the University of Athens (diploma 1966) and the German language at the University of Munich (1970–72). He did his doctorate in philosophy at the University of Athens (1977) with the topic The Influence of the Greek Spirit in the Duinese Elegies by Rainer Maria Rilke . His books have become bestsellers in Greece. The problem of death is particularly marked in his writings and poems, even in his dissertation on Rilke, in connection with eros.

Dimitrios Liantinis married Nikolitsa Georgopoulou , Professor of Philosophy at the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens. Her daughter, Diotima Liantini , is also a professor of art history and museum didactics at the University of Athens. On June 1, 1998, Prof. Liantinis disappeared from the common Athens house unknown to us. Police investigations revealed that Liantinis had taken a taxi to the mountains around Sparta. Liantinis had indicated his disappearance in written evidence, namely in a farewell letter to his daughter. - In July 2005, under mysterious circumstances, a body was found in a cave at an altitude of 2000 m on Mount Taygetus, which, with many question marks, was recognized by the police as his body. The mystery of its disappearance, however, remains unsolved.
