The Dimitrios P was built on July 7, 1921 as a Pentelikon for HAPAG , Hamburg at the shipyard and dockyard in Lübeck-Siems and put into service.

After its commissioning, it changed owners and names several times:

  • 1922 - sold to Mathies Reederei KG, Hamburg , new name Birgit
  • 1928 - Takeover of Mathies Reederei KG, Hamburg, from North German Lloyd
  • 1946 - October 3rd ceded to Greece, new name Amfipolis (Αμφίπολις)
  • 1955 - sold to Domestinis Steamship Lines, Piraeus , new name Evangelia (Ευαγγελια)
  • 1957 - sold to Saporta & Peponis , new name Dimitrios P

Stranding
