Dimitris Fampas

Dimitris Fampas ( Greek Δημήτρης Φάμπας , * December 22, 1921 Milina , Lafkos , near Volos ; † May 3, 1996 ) was a Greek guitarist and composer .

In 1955/56 and 1959 he studied as a scholarship holder in the guitar class of Andrés Segovia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (Italy) and the Academy of Santiago (Spain). Concerts have taken him to many European countries, the USA and Russia. He has published numerous works for guitar with international publishers (Ricordi Milano, Ricordi Brazil, Max Eschig Paris, Columbia Music USA, Lathkil Music Publishers London, Ph. Nakas and Papagrigoriou-Nakas Athens, M. Nikolaidis-Orpheus Editions Athens, Mel Bay). Its Greek dances such as Karagouna , Sousta and Ballos have the greatest international interest .
