Dina Doronne (1964)

Dina Doronne ( Hebrew דינה דורון; * in Israel ), also Dina Doron , is an Israeli theater and film actress .

Career

Dina Doronne was scheduled for the premiere of The Diary of Anne Frank in 1955 as an understudy for Anne , who was then played by Susan Strasberg . She later took on this role herself. Buddy Elias , one of Anne Frank's cousins, said in a letter dated December 3, 1956: “The little one Anne is now playing is great. Better than Susan. Susan was technically brilliant but little Dina Doronne is so natural and plays with so much heart that I think she pervades more. ”In 1957 she was featured as Jessica in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing . In 1967, in the film Clouds Over Israel , she played a Bedouin woman whose village was destroyed by an Israeli plane crashing during the Israeli-Arab war. Clouds Over Israel is an early testimony to Israeli filmmaking, and Dina Doronne's play in the war drama was highly acclaimed. She played Zohan's mother in the 2008 action comedy Don't Mess With The Zohan .
