Dinah Lee Küng

Dinah Lee Küng (* 1972 in Detroit , Michigan , United States ) is an American writer .

Life

Dinah Lee Küng spent 20 years as a foreign correspondent for Bloomberg Business , The Economist , The Washington Post and International New York Times in the Far East. In 1985 she received the Kearny Foundation Award for Asian Journalism for her journalistic work, and her work on the human rights situation in China was recognized with the Eric and Amy Burger Prize of the Overseas Press Club in 1991 . As part of her journalistic work, she met her husband Peter Küng in Hong Kong, who was then working for the International Red Cross. Dinah Lee Küng has three children who were born in Hong Kong and New York. Today the author lives near Geneva in Switzerland . Her novel A Visit from Monsieur Voltaire was nominated for the 2004 Orange Price for Fiction. Her 3-act play Dear Mr Rogge won the 2009 BBC World Service's "International Playwriting Contest".

As the only work by Küng to date, her novel A Visit From Voltaire has been translated into German under the title A Visit by Monsieur Voltaire and published by Page & Turner ( Goldmann Verlag ).
