Dinner auf Uranos is a German rock band that emerged from the dark metal band Nocte Obducta , which was dissolved in the meantime (2006-2010) , but differs from them stylistically.
history
The members of Nocte Obducta announced on June 17, 2006, due to a lack of acceptance in the black metal scene and internal problems, to disband Nocte Obducta after their last album and to make future releases under the band name Dinner on Uranos . However, the group did not distance themselves from Nocte Obducta, but saw themselves as their successor, with at least one further release under the name Nocte Obducta announced in January 2009, but without questioning the new band.
From September 2006 two demos were made , which were sent to different labels. Finally they signed with Cold Dimensions , in which members of the friendly band Lunar Aurora take part. On May 21, 2010, the debut entitled 50 Summer, 50 Winter was released. Another album has already been recorded.
Since the reunification of Nocte Obducta , Marcel "Traumschänder" Breuer (also Thâlsperre, Cüühn, formerly Agathodaimon ), Stefan "Draghkar", Heidig and Matthias Rodig (also Age of Aggression, Necrorgasm, formerly Agathodaimon ) are active there again.
style
The music includes elements of various genres including post rock , progressive rock , post punk and metal . Black metal elements, like in Nocte Obducta, are no longer found. Song material from the old band was largely dispensed with.
