Armin Wandel
Armin Wandel (born June 11, 1913 in Kaldau, Kr. Schlochau , West Prussia ; † January 25, 1994 in Lahr / Black Forest ) was a German medical officer .
Life
Wandel studied medicine at the Friedrich Wilhelms University of Silesia . In 1935 he was reciprocated in the Corps Lusatia Breslau . In 1942 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . He was medical officer of the Navy and made a boat doctor on U 129 two patrols with. He was flotilla doctor of the 26th U-Flotilla in Pillau and the 11th U-Flotilla in Bergen (Norway) . From June 1944 to January 1945 he was in command of the Kriegsmarine-Lehrkommando 700 ( combat swimmers ) in Valdagno . In 1957 he was taken over as a fleet doctor in the newly founded Bundeswehr . From 1962 to 1973 he headed the Submarine and Diver Physiological Institute of the Navy in Kronshagen , which from 1965 was called the Naval Medical Institute of the Navy . In cooperation with the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel , Wandel supervised many doctoral students . After retiring he lived in Bavaria . He was a board member (1976–1982) and honorary member of the sailing club Schwangau .
