Diomede Pantaleoni
Diomede Pantaleoni (born March 21, 1810 in Macerata , † May 3, 1885 in Rome ) was an Italian doctor and politician.
biography
During the pontificate of Pius IX. (1846 - 1878) he was part of the moderate political groups that supported reform programs and distanced themselves from the republic in 1849 .
He then took part with Cavour in secret negotiations with Napoleon III. to solve the Roman question .
He was elected MP for the Kingdom of Italy and expelled from Rome. On November 6, 1873, he was appointed senator and wrote various political works. In 1870 he was elected commissioner of the Ospedali Riuniti di Roma and in this capacity he restored the Ospedale di San Rocco for those giving birth and those “in hiding” .
He was the father of the economist Maffeo Pantaleoni , a friend of Vilfredo Pareto and an advocate of marginalism in Italy.
