DirecTV-14 (Directv BSS-99W, RB-1) is a television satellite of the US satellite operator and program provider DirecTV .
It was put into geostationary orbit together with GSAT-16 on December 6, 2014 at 20:40 UTC with an Ariane 5 ECA launcher from the ELA-3 launch pad in the Center Spatial Guyanais near Kourou .
The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with 76 spot Ka-band and 18 national reverse transponders and is to supply the USA including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico with HD and Ultra HD television from a position of 99 ° west . It was built on the basis of the LS 1300 satellite bus from Space Systems / Loral and has a planned service life of 15 years.
