Dirk Gerstle

Dirk Gerstle (born January 15, 1961 in Hildesheim ) is a German civil servant and was State Secretary for Social Affairs in the Senate Department for Health and Social Affairs in Berlin from July 2013 to the end of 2016 . He is a member of the CDU .

Career

Dirk Gerstle attended the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Hildesheim from 1983 to 1986 . He completed his studies with a degree in administrative management and then worked for the city of Hildesheim's pension administration until 2006.

Since 1989 Gerstle has been an employee of the Ministry for Social Affairs, Women, Family and Health of Lower Saxony and from 2006 cabinet advisor and deputy head of the office of the minister and the state secretary in this ministry. From 2008 to February 2013 he was head of the office of the minister and the state secretary in the Ministry for Social Affairs, Women, Family, Health and Integration in Lower Saxony and then advisor for social affairs, women, family, health and integration in the CDU parliamentary group To become Lower Saxony state parliament . After less than half a year in this position with the rank of ministerial councilor , he was appointed State Secretary in Berlin in July 2013, succeeding Michael Büge .
