Dirk Jacobus Smit
Dirk Jacobus Smit (born October 22, 1951 ) is a Reformed theologian.
Life
From 1978 to 1980 he was pastor of the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk in Stellenbosch . Since 1984 he has taught as a professor of systematic theology at the University of the Western Cape . Since 2000 he has taught as a professor for systematic theology at Stellenbosch University . In the winter semester 1992 he was professor for social ethics in Marburg . From 2010 to 2011 he was Professor of Ethics at the University of Heidelberg . Since June 2016 he has been honorary professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin . Since July 1, 2017, he has been Rimmer and Ruth De Vries Professor of Reformed Theology and Public Life at Princeton Theological Seminary .
