Dirk Koopman

Dirk Koopman (born May 2, 1963 ) is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Koopman, a 2.03 meter tall center player, was a teenager on the basketball team at Northbridge High School in the city of Whitinsville, Massachusetts , and from 1982 to 1986 he played in the first NCAA division and at the University of New Hampshire brought it to a total of 1023 points, with which he was at the end of his university career on the twelfth place of the eternal basket hunter list of the university team. With 726 rebounds, he even made it to third place in the University of New Hampshire's best list.

In Koopman's only season as a professional, he was third in the basketball Bundesliga with MTV Gießen 1986/87 alongside Henning Harnisch , Pat Elzie and Michael Koch , after which he returned to his home country and joined the family business, a building materials and gardening supplies. He also coached the basketball team at the Whitinsville Christian School.
