Dirk Lange

Dirk Lange (* 1964 ) is a German political scientist and university professor .

Life

For a long time he studied political science and graduated as a teacher at the Free University of Berlin . After his legal clerkship and school internship , he did his doctorate in 2002 with the subject The historical-political didactics of everyday history as an academic student of Peter Steinbach. In the same year he was appointed junior professor at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg and three years later professor for didactics of political education (also at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg). Since 2009 he has been professor for didactics of political education at Leibniz University Hannover . From 2011 to 2013, Lange was director of the agency for adult and further education in Lower Saxony. Since 2016 he has accepted a position at the University of Vienna, where he is also active in the didactics of political education.

Dirk Lange has been the spokesman for the Political Science and Civic Education Section in the German Association for Political Science (DVPW) and Federal Chairman of the German Association for Political Education (DVPB) (since 2006). He is also a founding member of the Society for Socio-Economic Education and Science (GSÖBW). He gives u. a. the series of citizen consciousness. Writings on political culture and political education in VS Verlag für Sozialwissenschaften .

Citizens' awareness is one of the main focuses of his research . Further focal points are political educational research, historical-political didactics, political teaching and learning research and education on migration policy.
