Dirk Rustemeyer

Dirk Rustemeyer (* 1959 ) is a German philosopher and university professor.

Life

He studied philosophy , history , educational science and social sciences at the Ruhr University in Bochum . After completing his master's degree , he received his doctorate ' summa cum laude ' in 1990 , followed by his habilitation . He then worked as an assistant to Jörn Rüsen at the Private University of Witten / Herdecke . From 1998 he taught and researched as a professor of philosophy there. Numerous teaching assignments took him to Dortmund, Magdeburg, Zurich and Hamburg. In 2001 he accepted a call to the University of Trier to take up his work at the Chair of Educational Philosophy / General Pedagogy. He has remained associated with the Faculty of Cultural Reflection in Witten as a visiting professor of philosophy to this day.
