Dirty Laundry is a song by Don Henley from the year 1982 that he and Danny Kortchmar was written. It appeared on the album I Can't Stand Still and is part of the soundtrack for the crime series Miami Vice .

history

The song is about a corrupt, cold-hearted reporter team and the tabloidization of the news. Henley sings from the perspective of the facilitator , who could almost be an actor, but it is not. The theme of the song is also the greed for sensational topics such as deaths , disasters and scandals without regard to the people concerned and moral values; regarding the line: "We all know that crap is king" (German for example: "We all know that the crap rules"). The press coverage of the deaths of Natalie Wood and John Belushi served as inspiration, the line: “Is the head dead yet?” (German: “Is the head dead?”) Is an allusion to the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan . The release took place on October 30, 1982, in Canada the new wave song reached number one.

In Miami Vice you heard the song once in the episode Hard Rock .
