Prussian milestone at Münchenhof

The distance stone near Münchenhof on federal highway 79 is a listed distance stone in Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The milestone entered in the Quedlinburg monument register with registration number 094 46394 is located on the eastern edge of the road 79 about one kilometer south of Münchenhof and thus close to the north of the confluence of the B 79 in federal road 6 .

Plant and history

The milestone was erected by Prussia as a new art route from Quedlinburg to Halberstadt after the road was laid out in 1843 . The round base stone is made of granite and is a testimony to the regional history of traffic and surveying. In September 2003 and March 2004, the stone could not be found, although it had only been lifted and placed on a paving platform two years earlier. In December 2006 it was set up again. In connection with the construction of the junction of the B 79 and B 6 south of the stone, it was dismantled and renovated by the Halberstadt road construction authority. The stone, which is about one meter high with its base and tip, now stands on the other side of the ditch and is therefore protected from accidents.
