The Dithmarschen was a German fish steamer that was used as an outpost boat in the Schlieder special group during the First World War .

use

Until the outbreak of the First World War, the Dithmarschen was used continuously as a fishing steamer.

On October 13, 1914, the steamer was assigned to the North Sea outpost flotilla by the Imperial Navy . By early 1916 at the latest, she and the VP boats Bismarck and Kehdingen became part of the Schlieder special group , which was deployed in the western and northern North Sea for fighting submarines, reconnaissance and destroying submarine cables . Here she was also used as a submarine trap .

On May 22, 1919, the Dithmarschen was returned to its previous owner and was probably used again in the fishing industry. On June 15, 1927, it was flagged out to Argentina ; it is unclear whether it was also sold there. In 1937 she was deleted from the shipping register, her whereabouts are unknown.
