The Iveco 330 was a heavy truck that Iveco manufactured from 1979. For the first time, Iveco has now offered a model series for one segment at all subsidiaries / holdings. The 330 was derived directly from the Fiat 300 and thus also replaced the previous range of Fiat 300 construction site vehicles. Its revised cabin also became the basis for the later Iveco T series . The chassis was extremely resilient and therefore also covered the area of ​​heavy transport from 33 to 72 tons. The 330 was the first construction site truck in Europe to have an 8-cylinder 17.174 liter engine. The power was the 260 to 310 kW (352 to 420 hp). After a long construction period of 14 years, it was replaced by the Iveco EuroTrakker .

The construction vehicle market has always been particularly special in Italy . 33-ton trucks on 3 axles in 6x4 design and 40-ton trucks with 2 axles in 8x4 design were permitted there, indicated by a blue light on the roof of the cabin when the vehicle was loaded. The 330 was therefore developed to meet the requirements of all extreme applications, including off-road, for loads from 33 to 72 tons. The 330 had therefore earned an excellent reputation for robustness and reliability. Many trucks exceeded 2 million kilometers. In particular, the Iveco 330, like the previous Fiat 300 series, was sold as a concrete mixer vehicle with a volume of 9, 10 m³ or 15 m³. With the famous 8280-8-cylinder engine from Fiat with 17.174 l had a maximum torque of 2050 Nm at just 1,100 rpm -1 therefore predestined and worked as a construction vehicle outright. The 330 was available as a semitrailer tractor and construction site vehicle as 6x4, 6x6 and 8x4 versions. With the introduction of the Iveco TurboStar , it received its cabin and now had air conditioning as standard .
