The Iveco Eurostar was a long- haul truck from Iveco , which was offered from 1993. With the EuroStar, Iveco had completely modernized its range of products within a few years with the Iveco Eurocargo introduced in 1991 , the Iveco EuroTech (1992) and the new Iveco EuroTrakker . The engines used were 6-cylinder engines with 9,495 cm³ and 275 kW output, as well as 13,798 cm³ and 309 kW, which were also installed on the Iveco EuroTech . Above that was an 8-cylinder engine with 520 hp at 1800 rpm. In 1995 Iveco filled the gap between the medium and the top engine with the 13,798 cm³ 6-cylinder engine with a version with 345 kW at 1800 rpm. Either one from ZF with 16 gears + 2 reverse gears or the Twin Splitter from Eaton Corporation with 12 + 2 gears was used as the transmission . From 1995 with the appearance of the 345 kW engine, Iveco offered the automatic transmission called "EuroTronic" from a collaboration between Iveco and ZF Friedrichshafen . In 1998 Iveco launched the Cursor engines , which complied with Euro 2 and later Euro 3. First there was the Cursor 10 engine (10,300 cm³) with 294 and 316 kW. The Cursor 13 followed in 1999 with 338 kW (Euro 2) and 353 kW (Euro 3), but these only became popular with the successor Stralis . The EuroStar was offered with long-haul cabins that were as wide as the maximum permissible limits. In addition to the standard cabin with bed and low roof, there was a lower cabin with a low roof and a deep cabin with a high roof. In particular, the automatic transmissions available for every engine in the EuroStar made it very popular with drivers and a pioneer in the industry. However, the partial lack of reliability of the previous Turbostar model was one reason why the EuroStar was not as successful as its successor, the Stralis.
