Jessica Chamba

Jessica Chamba (birth name: Jessica Pennet; born November 16, 1981 in France ) is a European activist of the non-governmental organization (NGO). She is currently Vice President of the European Movement International .

Life and education

Chamba was born Jessica Pennet and grew up near Lyon , France . She studied political science at Sciences Po Paris . In 2004 she completed her studies with a master’s degree . She currently heads a management consultancy for the health sector and social institutions. In 2009 she was also co-founder of the management consultancy Cekoïa Conseil.

NGO career

Chamba began her political career as President of the Sciences Po Student Group of Young European Federalists , the youth organization of the European Movement International. Between 2003 and 2005 she was also President of the French national branch of this pro-European youth organization . During her tenure, she carried out the "pro-oui campaign" for the referendum on the ratification of the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe in France, which was ultimately rejected by 55% of the population. Despite this failure, it played a key role in establishing the Young European Federalists as France's leading pro-European youth organization.

Subsequently, Chamba joined the Steering Committee of the European Movement and the Federal Committee of Young European Federalists (JEF-Europe), the umbrella organization of the youth organization of the European Movement. Between 2007 and 2009 she was Senior Vice President of JEF Europe. In August 2008 she was elected Vice President of the European Movement International. In November 2011 she was confirmed in this position.
