Motorization
A total of seven engine variants are available. The Tector series consists of four-cylinder engines with a displacement of 3.92 l and 130/150/170 hp as well as six-cylinder engines with a displacement of 5.88 l and 180/210/240/280/299 hp. All variants are common rail engines and have been compliant with Euro 4/5 since mid-2006.
The exhaust gases are cleaned using SCR .
Both the engine and the total weight can be read on the side of the cab. The type designation 120E18 denotes e.g. B. 12.0 t GVW and 180 HP engine power.
transmission
Depending on the engine, 5-, 6- and 9-speed gearboxes are available. Automated transmissions will be available with the introduction of the MY2008.
Purposes
Many EuroCargos (4x2) are z. They are used, for example, by Deutsche Post and DHL, where they act as “toll breakers” with 11.9 t GVW and box body for regional distribution traffic . In this regard, the EuroCargo has an advantage over competing models due to its low weight and thus enables (slightly) higher payloads. To reduce weight, large parts of the driver's cab are made of composite materials such as GRP.
In disaster control, the Eurocargo is used by civil protection as a transport vehicle, but also by the THW as a 4x4 all-terrain vehicle with a short wheelbase.
About the BwFuhrparkService GmbH also has Bundeswehr 227 Euro Cargo-wheel vehicles in civilian and military white bronze green livery.
Awards
The Iveco Eurocargo received the “International Truck of the Year 2016” award. The prestigious award was given, among other things, because the Eurocargo is the only medium-weight truck that effectively meets the strict Euro VI requirements with an astonishingly less complex exhaust gas treatment system. In addition, the TCO (costs over the service life) could be reduced significantly.
