Iveco Tector

Tector is the name of the latest engine generation (since 2000) from Iveco for medium-duty trucks with 103 to 220 kW (140–299 hp). Like all Iveco engines, it is not only offered for trucks, here the Eurocargo , but also for other applications. In South America the Eurocargo is known as the Tector .

Four or six cylinders in line (3.9 and 5.9 l displacement)
Common rail injection
Four valves per cylinder
The camshaft below is driven by gear wheels, valves are operated via tappets , push rods and rocker arms (OHV)

This engine originally complies with the Euro 3 emissions standard . Since 2006, it has also complied with Euro 4/5, using SCR . External EGR can be dispensed with.
