Divine Disorder is a melodic death metal band from Kuwait that was founded in 2010 .

history

Divine Disorder was founded at the beginning of 2010 in Kuwait City , the capital of the Emirate of Kuwait . They are considered to be the only extreme metal band in the country. The founders of the band are singers Yousef "Azurayl" and Jassem "Darkvain" Al-rumaidheen, who is also active as a bass player in the group. Before founding Divine Disorder, the two brothers played in the rock band Positive Poison, which was formed in 2003. In the meantime the band moved to Dubai .

At the beginning of their careers, the duo worked with their musician friend Aatrey and invited two session musicians, Achokarlos and Acacio Carvalho, due to the lack of musical equipment, missing guitarists and drummers . Other musicians who have worked with the brothers over the years include keyboardist Mahmoud "Mortis" Tahan, Jon Phibbs, Carlos Alvarez and Dan-Elias Brevig.

In 2012 the group released two singles. For the debut album Garden of Dystopia , the band worked in Sweden, mixed by Jens Bogren and mastered by the French music producer Brett Caldas Lima . For the album, the band worked with Dååth drummer Kevin Talley , who recorded the drum parts. Divine Disorder signed a record deal with the independent label Inazuma Productions and released their debut album Garden of Dystopia on November 3rd, 2014. In the course of the album release , the group received a wide response from international music magazines such as the Japanese Burrrn! Magazine and the German Legacy .

Since then the band has been quiet. In 2017, the band took part in a voting that should make it possible to play as the opening act for the death metal band Nile in Dubai . To date the band has not played a single concert. The fact that the Kuwait government associated metal with Satanism and that many musicians have withdrawn contributed to this.

music

The music was thought to be a mixture of symphonic and melodic death metal that would sound as pure as Insomnium , progressive as In Mourning and as symphonic as Epica if they were to play melodic death metal. Musically bands like HammerFall , but also Rammstein , The Kovenant and Dimmu Borgir are among the influences of the musicians. Yousef Al-rumaidheen, who is responsible for the lyrics, was inspired by the Japanese director Hideaki Anno to write profound lyrics.

Band name

Based on the band name, Yousef Al-rumaidheen described Divine Disorder as a psychological - philosophical approach to life and the cosmos. When people are completely calm and respectful, they would feel the ultimate serenity that they call divinity. If, on the other hand, the person has reached the lowest point, the fine line between chaos and anger, which causes an uncomfortable feeling of anger, would be described by the person as disorder. As a human being, one is interested in the idea that human beings are the center of the universe and keep everything in balance. Most of the philosophy is based on a human- narcissistic view of life and the cosmos.
