Dååth ( Hebrew: "science", see also Da'at ) is an American metal band from Atlanta . The band plays a mixture of death , thrash and black metal . Thematically, the Jewish mysticism and the Kabbalah are a big influence. The band does not call itself religious. The best-known member of the band is the drummer Kevin Talley, who previously played with Misery Index , Dying Fetus and Chimaira .

history

The band was founded in 2003 as Dirtnap. The founding members were Eyal Levi, Mike Kameron and Sean Farber, who played in different bands while they were still in school. All three later attended Berklee College of Music in Boston . Without graduating, the three left college to make music.

In 2004 the self-financed debut album Futility was released . The second album, The Hinderers, followed three years later via Roadrunner Records . Video clips were shot for two songs. The first video for Festival Mass Soulform was made before the contract was signed and aroused Roadrunner's interest in the band. The second video for Subterfuge followed at the end of February 2007.

In the summer of 2007 the band played on the second stage on the Ozzfest tour.

In October 2007 the singer Sean Farber left the band. Sean Z. replaces him.

On April 20, 2009, the band's third studio album, The Concealers , was released in Europe through Century Media , although the band is under contract with Roadrunner Records . It was launched in North America on April 21, also through Century Media. The album was produced by Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis (including Trivium , All That Remains , DevilDriver ). So far, a single for the song The Worthless and a music video for the song Day of Endless Light have been released.
