Division doctor

The divisional surgeon is in the German army of medical and technical counselor of division commander and the medical director of the medical service within a division. Usually it is a senior physician .

Division doctors have been employed in the German army since April 1, 1896, with the rank and badge of lieutenant colonel . You stand between the regimental doctors and the corps doctor (the medical office ).

The division doctor was also responsible for training the medical personnel as well as for monitoring and implementing health care and hygiene. In the event of war, the division doctor had to choose the main dressing station and manage the service there.
