Djau

Djau was an Egyptian vizier during the Old Kingdom . He came from an influential family in the Upper Egyptian city of Abydos . It is not known when Djau was appointed vizier; However, it is likely that a direct connection with the marriage of his two sisters I. Anchenespepi and Anchenespepi II. with King ( Pharaoh ) Pepi I is. Djau was certainly in office at the beginning of the reign of Pepi II . It is mentioned in two royal decrees from Abydos and Koptos ; one of them is dated to the year of the 11th count. Djau was no longer in office at the latest when the grave of Pepi II was decorated and was finally buried at Abydos.
