Dmitri Konstantinowitsch Sjomin ( Russian Дмитрий Константинович Сёмин ; born August 14, 1983 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Dmitri Sjomin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with HK Spartak Moscow , for whose professional team he was active from 1999 to 2006 in the Super League and the second-rate Wysschaja Liga . From 2006 to 2009 he played for Lokomotive Yaroslavl , first in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . With Yaroslavl he lost in 2008 and 2009 in the final for the Russian championship and the Gagarin Cup .

The 2009/10 season spent Syomin at Atlant Mytishchi . He then moved within the KHL to HK Awangard Omsk , where he was always part of the regular squad for the following four years. In 2014, Awangard missed the KHL play-offs, but instead won the Nadezhda Cup at the end of the season .

In the 2014/15 season Sjomin was under contract with Salawat Julajew Ufa and was used for Ufa 61 times in the KHL, collecting 14 points. He then moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in July 2015 . There he played, interrupted by a year of play at HK Vitjas until 2019.

International

For Russia , Sjomin took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2001 . In this he became world champion with his team. He contributed to this success with one goal and four assists in six games.
