Dmitri Michailowitsch Tischkin (born February 5, 1980 in Shushenskoye ) is a former Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Tischkin made his debut in Moscow in January 2000 in the World Cup , where he finished 15th in the 15 km freestyle. In the same month he won at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2000 in Štrbské Pleso gold with the relay, silver over 10 kilometers freestyle and the bronze medal over 30 kilometers classic. In the 2000/01 season he came into the points twice in the World Cup and finished 64th in the overall World Cup at the end of the season. He achieved his best individual placement in the World Cup with tenth place in the sprint in Engelberg . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 in Lahti , he achieved 21st place in the sprint. The following year he finished 31st in the sprint at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and 29th in the 30km mass start race. In the 2002/03 season he reached three placings in the World Cup and achieved 75th place in the overall World Cup. From the 2003/04 season until his last active season 2008/09, he mainly took part in FIS races and in competitions of the Continental Cup . He won in April 2004 in the 50 km mass start race in Murmansk and in December 2007 over 15 km freestyle in Krasnogorsk . In March 2005 he became Russian champion over 50 km in Syktywkar .
