Dmitri Nikolajewitsch Patruschew ( Russian Дмитрий Николаевич Патрушев ; born October 13, 1977 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a Russian bank manager and economist . He has been Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation since 2018 .

Life

Patrushev was born in Leningrad as the son of former FSB boss Nikolai Patrushev and his wife. After graduating from school, he began studying at Moscow State University of Management , which he graduated in 1999. After working for three years in the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, from 2002 to 2004 he studied world economics at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Patrushev is a doctor of economics and has published numerous economic articles and monographs.

In 2004 he started working at the foreign trade bank. In 2007 he was promoted to Vice President of the second largest Russian bank. In 2010 he moved to the supervisory board of the Russian agricultural bank "Rosselchosbank" and after a short time became chairman of the company. Since 2016 he has been a member of the supervisory board of the world's largest oil production company " Gazprom ".

On May 18, 2018, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture in the Government of the Russian Federation .

Patrushev is the father of two children.
