Dmitri Sergejewitsch Iljinych ( Russian Дмитрий Сергеевич Ильиных , English transcription: Dmitriy Sergeevich Ilinykh ; born January 31, 1987 in Adler ) is a Russian volleyball player .

Career

Ilyinykh was initially active in tennis before joining volleyball at the age of fifteen. His first association was VK Lokomotiv-Belogorje . In 2005 the diagonal attacker won the Junior World Championship with the Russian junior team. A year later, the title followed at the European Championship, in which Ilyinych was awarded as the most valuable player. In 2007 the young Russians became vice world champions. In the 2008/09 season the Libero played for Metalloinwest Stary Oskol before returning to Belgorod. In 2010 Ilyinych was the Russian runner-up with Lokomotiv. In the same year he made his debut in the senior team . In 2011 the Russians won the world league . 2012 Ilyinych became Olympic champion in London .
