Doçal Graudo

The red variety Doçal Graudo is widespread in northern Portugal and is approved in the Vinho Verde region , the Minho . It is used for simple table wines .

The very high-yielding, late-ripening variety produces ruby-red wines of simple quality.

There are also the varieties Doçal and Doçal de Refóios .

Synonyms: Doçais Noir, Doçal Grande, Doçar borralho, Doçar Graudo and Doçar miudo.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. She is hairy white wool. The yellow-green young leaves are slightly woolly hairy.
  • The thin leaves are five-lobed and deeply indented. The stem bay is open in a V-shape. The sheet is serrated to a point. The teeth are set closely in comparison to the grape varieties.
  • The cylindrical grape is small to medium in size, shouldered and dense berries. The slightly elongated berries are medium-sized and black-blue in color.

The late ripening grape variety is very vigorous.
