List of grape varieties |
Doçal Tinto is a red wine that is widespread in northern Portugal and is approved in the Douro and Minho regions . It is used as a component similar to the Doçal de Refóios, which has almost the same name, for Vinho Verde and simple table wines . The high-yielding, late-ripening variety produces ruby to garnet red wines of moderate quality.
There are also the Doçal Graudo and Doçal de Refóios varieties .
Ampelographic varietal characteristics
- The shoot tip is open. It is very hairy, whitish and has a carmine tinge. The yellow young leaves are also hairy with white wool.
- The large leaves (see also the article leaf shape ) are five-lobed to seven-lobed and deeply indented. The stem bay is open in a V-shape. The blade is bluntly serrated. The teeth are medium-sized compared to the grape varieties. The leaf surface (also called blade) is blistered and rough. The foliage turns red in spots in autumn.
- The cylindrical grape is usually shouldered, medium-sized and has dense berries. The elliptical, short berries are medium-sized and blue-black in color. The skin of the juicy berry is medium thick.
