DoT LAN

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

DoT-LAN (DoT stands for "Days of Thunder") is the name of an Austrian LAN party that has been held annually in Ried im Innkreis since 2000 . According to the organizer, the event in 2004 was the largest LAN party ever held in Austria with 873 participants.

organizer

The DoT-LANs are organized by the Entertainment Incorporated Association (E-INC for short), which was founded on November 11, 2004 to offer young people the opportunity to spend their free time in the field of new media , not just through LAN parties . This association developed from the members of the original organizing team, who organized the events as private individuals before the association was founded. E-INC currently has 20 members who actively support the association by helping out at events.

history

The DoT-LAN event series has existed since 2000 - the first event was called DoT2k. The designation with the year attached in kilograms was retained and continued. In 2005, in preparation for DoT2k5, two further parties were held, which were named DoT-Lite # 1 and DoT-Lite # 2.

Trivia

In 2008 the organizing team took a break for personal reasons, there was no DoT-Lan. Just in time for the turn of the year on January 1st, 2009, the DoT2k9 homepage was put online, thus announcing the continuation of the series. Over 100 participants registered within just a few hours. News about the upcoming Lan-Party is currently being announced.
