Dollond is a small impact crater on the front of the moon north of Abulfeda crater and east of Andel . East of Dollond and north of Descartes is a so-called lunar vortex , an area with a high albedo and at the same time a magnetic anomaly . The bowl-shaped crater is only slightly eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British optician and telescope maker John Dollond .
