Pierre qui Tourne

The dolmen La Pierre qui Tourne (also known as the Dolmen of Morancez) is located in an unreal setting in the courtyard of the “Residence du Dolmen” on the D935 road (38 Rue de Chartres) in Morancez, immediately south of Chartres in the Eure-et-Loir department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The dolmen, apparently once very large, is nothing more than a large pile of stones. The approximately 7.0 meter long and 4.0 meter wide capstone lies on the ground with a few other stones (one of which is standing).

The Neolithic dolmen has been classified as a Monument historique since 1983 .

A dolmen of the same name Pierre qui Tourne (also called Septfontaines) is located in the necropolis de Fort Bevaux in Andelot-Blancheville near Chaumont in the Haute-Marne department .
