The Stenadansen

The dolmens on Dösabacken ( German  "Dolmenhügel" ) are located west of Nybodalsvägen on a road connecting the villages of Viby and Fjälkinge east of Kristianstad in the southern Swedish province of Skåne län and the historic province of Skåne . The Stenadansen ( German  " stone dance " ) and the 100 m distant Viby Dolmen were built between 3500 and 2800 BC. Erected by the carriers of the funnel beaker culture (TBK). Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development.

The long dolmen "Stenadansen" (also called "Gustav Adolf 2") is located on a flat hill. Only a capstone of the chamber itself can be seen, the rest of the unexcavated megalithic complex is still hidden in the mound. There are still 16 erected stones from the edging.

The small “Viby- Dolmen ” ( Swedish Viby-Dös ), which only has the threshold stone missing on the entry side, was restored in 1975. The bones of at least two people, a fragment of a bone needle and broken ceramics were found.
