Dolmen de la Marque

The Dolmen de la Marque (also called Dolmen du Buisson , Pèira Giganta , lo Geïon or Chamblon) is located on the Causse Méjean , a limestone plateau in the Massif Central in Mas-Saint-Chély in the Lozère department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The approximately one meter wide, still largely stabilized by its hill, restored dolmen has been preserved over a length of approximately 4.6 m. It consists of four supporting stones, the end stone and three cap stones resting on the rear end, of which the rearmost one has broken. A fourth stone, the size of a capstone, lies behind the megalithic complex on the hill. The uncovered part is about 3.1 m long and was made of concrete and dry masonry.
