The north-east-south-west oriented Dolmen du Capucin (also called "des Capucins") is a typical Neolithic ( French trapézoidale ) designated dolmen near Claret in the Occitania region in the form of a gallery grave . It is located north of Montpellier on the Causse de l'Hortus (plateau) in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

It consists of a long corridor that leads through the stone mound, initially only preserved up to a height of about 0.9 m, to an antechamber that is shifted to the right in relation to the main axis, the side bearing stones of which are clearly inclined inward. The front consists of two stones, which by shape or position absorb the lateral inclination of the bearing stones as well as the two stones at the rear end of the antechamber, which, however, are oriented towards the bearing stones.

The partition between the antechamber and the main chamber consists of an unevenly divided plate with the remains of a core hole . The main chamber is much wider and longer than the antechamber and also consists of a long lateral support stone that is clearly inclined inwards. This inclination is taken up by the only end plate that jumped under the load.

The 14 m long system, restored in 1970, has lost all cap stones. The corridor as well as the vestibule and main chamber have paved floors.

The “Dolmen du Grand Juyan de Rubiac” and “Dolmen 1 von de Feuilles” show a similar structure.
