Coste-Caude dolmen

The three dolmens of Coste-Caude (also Costa Caouda) are located west of the D152 and east of La Vacquerie-et-Saint-Martin-de-Castries near Lodève in the Cevennes in the Hérault department in the Occitania region in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds ( see: French nomenclature ).

The well-preserved Gangdolmen ( French dolmen à couloir ) Coste-Caude 1 is located on a tumulus west of the D152. The Dolmen Costa-Caude 1 belongs to the regional type of "passage graves". A covered entrance leads into a small chamber.

The less well-preserved Dolmen Coste-Caude 2 and 3 are 65 and 190 meters away, respectively.

About 300 m below the dolmen, facing the road, the 1.8 m high menhir Coste-Caude rises.
